Great Moments in Civil Discourse: Liberals Threaten Six-Year-Old

What happens when a six-year-old kid is videoed giving reasons to not vote for Obama?

Death threats, of course!

Take a look at the video…

Now, here are some of the reactions from the “tolerant left.”

Patriot Update recently posted a video on YouTube entitled, “6-Year-Old Gives 10 Reasons NOT to Vote for Obama!”, which has caused liberals to go on the warpath. With over 350,000 views and climbing, the venomous and hate-filled comments from the left are intolerable. Liberal around the country are accusing the parents of “brainwashing” and “exploiting” their child. (Somehow a bunch of elementary school children singing praises to Obama doesn’t count as “brainwashing or exploitation.”) Ironically, the left couldn’t care less if you abort your child. Teaching them conservative values, however, is tantamount to child abuse!

Patriot Update has more details and screenshots, so get over there and check it out.

Just consider this another lesson in liberal “tolerance.”

Three Possible Futures for America

Conservatives, tea-partiers, libertarians, patriots, and those who still follow traditional American social or political values are currently facing three different possible scenario’s:

  1. America is still on the way up and the damage that President Obama and his Democratic allies (and some Republicans too) have done to the nation are the kind of blows that America has routinely suffered through and emerged from stronger. President Obama may be Buchanan or Hoover, but America was eventually able to (after horrible times) follow those years with some good times. If Obama wins again in 2012, this will be bad, but a future Republican Presidency will re-correct the temporary pause in our continued growth and our children and our children’s children will live in health, happiness, prosperity, and military strength.
  2. America is at a crossroads and that it if President Obama and his Democratic allies (also including any Republican that supports government attack on life, liberty, and protection of property) remain in power it is likely that the damage that they will do- together with the damage they have already done- will be too great to recover from and never again will children live the same prosperous, happy, and secure lives that their parents did before them. An Obama win here will be the end of America- another four years of him remaining in power will solidify the damage already done and he will do further damage- he will ignore Congress and implement his policies of steering wealth and power to his friends, regardless of the wishes of the American people. President Obama in this case is Carter, and thankfully Carter only had one term, and Carter was followed by Reagan and a good several decades. Romney isn’t Reagan, but maybe a Reagan-like person will follow him and that those two Presidencies will be enough to jump-start our nation and revive its progress forward towards more secure lives, more liberty and freedom, and growing property.
  3. America is on the way down and that the damage to the Republic that President Obama and his Democratic allies (and the Supreme Court, moderate Republicans, third-party voters) did to our nation is too great for us to recover from. The massive amounts of debt, the lost years of production by great numbers of citizens, the impossible to redeem promises made, the rendering of the fabric of society, the stunning partisanship and divides that have been ripped open, the precedents for increased elite control over your lives, etc- these are all too great to be overcome. America is on the decline, and now it is simply a matter of how fast and how hard we fall. Of course your children will never receive Social Security and Medicare, but in this case they also have no military to protect them when they go overseas and will they have to travel on crumbling infrastructure here at home. They will be like the Romans were, looking around and wondering at future generations. In this case, Obama is not comparable to anyone in our history, since he is the end of America’s fortune, and whether Obama wins or loses in 2012, the damage he has done has already been too great for our nation to really recover from. At no point in the future, no matter if there is a two-term Romney Presidency followed by two terms of Jindal and two terms of Rubio, will our posterity enjoy the same protections to life, liberty, and property that they do today. The debt that we owe other nations is too great, our currency is too weak, our industrial base too compromised, social institutions too shattered, obligations to others too unable to be met, world events slipped too far towards tyranny and injustice, and our military too weakened- any conservative Republicans (or even conservative Democrats) would only delay the inevitable. But even a delay is better than the fall- watching the crumbling ruins of Rome and telling stories about being free men in the Republican was still better than being a slave to the whims of Caesars and being killed when Rome was sacked.

Three possible directions for the future of America, two possible choices on the ballot in 2012, and one true path to follow.

Right-minded: Move on and save the savable

Nothing you say matters to the hardcore liberal.  I want you to say that three times and embed it in your nugget.  No matter the facts, the evidence, the history, and the reality of the world we live in your words mean absolutely nothing to those committed liberals who believe in big government solutions and a nanny-state environment.  They have signed up, drank the utopian Kool-Aid and have bought into the leftist ideology lock, stock, and barrel.

I bring this point up because of a conversation I had with a friend about his experience with family members who have bought into this flawed ideology.  He conveyed his frustration to me about how disillusioned his liberal family members had become over the years.  When he tried to offer them a conservative alternative they scoffed at the notion and ignored every word he said.  Using real world examples he tried to show them how liberalism has failed in the past and how it is failing now.  It simply didn’t matter.  At one point my friend said he believed a smaller government footprint in our lives was a good thing.  They laughed at him.  This is what we’re up against folks and to be quite honest almost 90 percent of these people cannot be saved.  The only value they add to the political conversation is to use them as examples of what not to be; closed minded and ignorant.  We need to continue to call them out when the put forth nonsensical ideas, but saving them from their own short myopic view of the world around them is simply not in the cards.

I don’t say this to be mean or uncaring.  We simply don’t have the time to waste on people like this.  You see each day that goes by there are those who can be saved slipping deeper and deeper into this liberal trap.  Whether they have lost their job and are now dependent on the scraps the government feeds them or they have found themselves in a situation where they are questioning the wisdom of our system, we must not waste our time with the hardcore left.  Very few of them will ever see things in a different light and those who eventually do are few and far between.  It usually takes some life changing event that rocks their entire belief system.  We can’t take it personal when these people laugh at us, call us names, or say we’ve been brainwashed by the far right.  We need to not worry about whether these people want to be our friends or not.  It’s about saving those who can be saved from this terrible flawed ideology that threatens our nation.  It about turning the tide against them and this is done by focusing our efforts on people who keep an open mind.

This can be a very painful journey for many of us, because it hurts to see our loved ones so misguided and misinformed about the issues.  When my friend told his family member that we can’t afford Obamacare because our country is broke, the family member just laughed at him.  It hurt him a great deal because nothing he said seemed to matter.  His opinion was garbage but his family member’s opinion was right.   My advice to him and anyone else who has experienced the same type of response is to move on.  Defend yourself and your position if attacked, but move on and waste no more precious time trying to sell the idea of individual liberty over big government intrusion.  These people have been with us since the days of the Federalist and anti-Federalist; those who wanted a strong government influence and our lives and those who did not.  If Thomas Jefferson in all his brilliance couldn’t convince John Adams of the folly of his ways in regards to the Alien and Sedition Act do you really think you’re going to change the mind of your loved one?  Instead Thomas Jefferson wasted no more time with John Adams and moved on to garner support against the Alien and Sedition Act from those who were willing to listen to his position.  In the end Jefferson won the day because he concentrated his efforts on what really mattered; building a consensus against the Alien and Sedition Act.

So to all those folks out there who have experienced the above scenario play out in your lives, my advice to you is to move on so you can start saving those who can still be saved.  Move on so we can start building a strong conservative consensus in America.  Move on so we can get on with the task of restoring America back to greatness.  Move on and don’t lose any sleep over it.

Liberty forever, freedom for all!

The Demographics Still Hold: More Americans are Conservative, but why is the Left so Successful?

Every year, Gallup does a poll to determine the political division in America.  This year, the results were much the same as in the last two, with nearly twice a Americans reporting themselves to be “Conservative” as those identifying as “liberal.”  The Blaze has some more coverage…

The Gallup poll shows that 40 percent of Americans consider themselves conservative; 35 percent moderate; and 21 percent view themselves as liberal. The figures are no different than they were in 2010 and conservatives have outnumbered both moderates and liberals for three years running now.

Politico adds:

Conservatives began outstripping moderates in 2008, and the percentage of moderates has declined steadily over the last two decades, from 43 percent 1992 to 35 percent in 2011.

In fact, both self-identified conservatives and liberals have risen in number since the early 1990s, indicating a growing polarization in American politics.

While self-identified conservatives dominate the Republican Party, making up 71 percent, the Democratic Party is more split – 39 percent of Democrats view themselves as liberal, and 38 percent consider themselves moderates.

It might be worth noting that, per the poll’s findings, independents are mainly moderate (41 percent), but veer more towards conservatism (35 percent) than liberalism (20 percent).

So, we outnumber the “enemy.”  But when then, are the liberals so successful?  Being only 20% of the population, why do they have an impact beyond their numbers?  Here are some thoughts.

1.  Liberals are well placed.  During the “long march through the institutions,” leftists, and flat out communists, occupied important positions in influential institutions:  Education and media, in particular.  Doing so allows them to control what is taught to children at all levels.  Then, they attempt to control the information that is released to the public.  They were successful in that area for many years, but now, the alternative media is making a significant dent in their power.

2.  Liberals are better organized.  Being collectivists in their nature, leftists are well suited to the role of being drones.  They are more likely to give up themselves to a cause, and show blind faith towards it.  Conservatives, on the contrary, are more individually minded, and tend to be more self sufficient, not only in actions, but in thought.  That does, at times leave us at a disadvantage, but it also means that we don’t submit all that well.   That makes leftist plans and policies far more difficult to implement and maintain.

3.  Conservatives might be a bit more busy.  If you recall, in 2009, CBS engaged in what Limbaugh would call, “a random act of journalism.”  They published the results of a poll that indicated that the average Tea Party member was in their early 40’s, made slightly more than the median income, and was more likely to be college educated.  Looking at that data, we might assume that most have families, have careers, and are probably working towards their individual goals.  That is, my friends, how it should be, but it doesn’t always leave room for activism, indoctrination, thuggery, and the other hallmark behaviors of liberals.

4.  Also, knowing my own experiences, and the stories of other bloggers, I wonder what “kind” of Conservatives this 40% is?  I know that drank establishment GOP Kool-Aid for some time before I woke up.  I called myself a Conservative, but it was the weak, big government, NeoCon brand, and I didn’t know the why’s and how’s of Conservatism.  So, I have to ask, how many of these Conservatives are as I was?  I’m almost afraid that I will get an answer.

At any rate, those are my thoughts.  Comments are welcome, as always.

Teaching and Brain-Dead Liberal Students

Of all the students in my class, the ones who are the least intelligent are the liberal ones. As Ronald Reagan once said, it isn’t that these students are ignorant- in a great many cases, these students earn A’s in all their classes and have a considerable wealth of knowledge on the issues and the subject matter. But what makes them just so darned unintelligent is that they know so much that isn’t so.

For example, one of my students every day talks about the right to occupy public places that the people in the Occupy Wall Street movements are exercising. He knows that individual citizens have the right to squat on public places and protest, regardless of time, place, and manner restrictions, and he knows this beyond a doubt in his little mind. But what he knows isn’t so- at no time has any court or legal scholar ever argued that people have an unlimited right to live on public lands without being molested- in fact, there are considerable and respected time, place, and manner restrictions on protesting on public property, and this includes not being able to sleep overnight in tents in public parks. My student isn’t ignorant of the laws and rules and regulations regarding the First Amendment; rather, it is that he knows things where aren’t so.

Another one of my students knows that under President George W. Bush and the Republicans, our nation was plunged into a severe recession that President Barack Obama has had to battle his entire time in office. She knows that the recession began under Republican control of Congress and the Presidency, and here in Michigan she knows that the recession can be blamed on a Republican Governor and state Congress. She is not ignorant- if I were to ask her when Congress was taken over by the Democrats, when President Obama took office, when the Great Recession started, or when Democrats lost control of the Michigan Congress or Governorship, she’d be able to tell me. It is just that when I ask her to put all this information together, she suddenly knows things that aren’t so, because the truth of the matter is that the Great Recession began in 2008 during the last year of Bush’s presidency, under a Democrat Congress, and in Michigan there was a Democratic Governor and Congress too. What she knew wasn’t so!

Another student last week knew that global warming was happening- that is, she knew that ever since the industrial age began, human activity has been causing a steady and progressively accelerating of the global temperatures. She knew this to be so, and she was a good student who every day would quote from the New York Timesor Barack Obama, so she wasn’t ignorant- it was just that what she knew wasn’t so. The temperature of the globe has not been steadily rising in temperatures since the industrial age, and to be honest, it is difficult to determine beyond a shadow of a doubt whether it is rising even now, what with data being manipulated by scientists, a lack in measuring stations, and an overall problem of putting thermometers near industrial and populated areas that naturally emit a lot of heat.

Just why exactly are the liberals and left-wing of our nation brain dead? In an article that appears in the Wall Street Journal called The Brain Dead Left, James Tarantohinted at the reason why this may be when he wrote:

…Obama has multiple degrees from Ivy League colleges and spent a good deal of his career as a part-time professor. At Columbia, Harvard and the University of Chicago, he absorbed the politically correct nostrums of the academic left. But he didn’t pick up much by way of critical thinking skills (although at least he doesn’t scream at banks).

He didn’t have to learn how to think, since he was thinking all the “right” thoughts anyway. So he came to office with lots of ideological preconceptions but no ability to adapt or innovate. As a result, he is simply in over his head intellectually—at the mercy of allies, opponents and events…

The reason that our liberal friends know so much that isn’t so may just be the fact that their movement is intellectually bankrupt, starved of critical analysis by supporters who have few thinking skills and are unable to question their own theories and views because of the rigidity of political correctness.

Although they are not ignorant people, they do know so much which isn’t so, and that is why as a teacher I have great job in teaching the students above what is really so- that the OWS people have no right to squat on public lands, that the blame for theGreat Recession is complicated and unclear, that the global warming theory as advanced by this student was incorrect, and that President Obama is a bad bad President.

UPDATE: Today another liberal student, who is a rather intelligent one and who knows a lot about a range of subjects, again demonstrated that the problem with liberals is not they they are not smart or ignorant, but rather it is that they know so much that isn’t true. This student sent me an email that said

"There are two difference between the Occupy Wall Street movement and all other movements in American history- the first is that they represent the views of all Americans, and the second is that the situation today, unlike at other times in the past, justifies any sorts of violent, anti-social, law-breaking behavior."

The liberal student could tell you everything there is to know about other social movements, identifying the main people, years, influences, impact, and other details with these movements, and this liberal student scored very well on Advanced Placement tests in World History and US History and knows all about history.

And yet it isn’t what this student knows that is wrong, but what this student thinks they do know that is wrong.

First, OWS does not represent ‘the views of all Americans’- there hasn’t been a single credible poll that shows that it represents even the majority of Americans, and in fact a lot of polls show that the majority of Americans are against it. Second, there is nothing about the current political situation more so than others in the past that justifies the sort of violent, law-breaking activity that characterizes the Occupy Wall Street movement- today is no more or less unique than the past and the beauty of the law is that it is above the moments of the time and is blind to the passing of the ages. This liberal student’s problem is that the things that they think they know are in fact wrong, and so all actions and decisions based on these wrong things are wrong actions and decisions.

Why the left ignores reality

This is a great excerpt from Fleeceme.

Amplify’d from
Blog Focus: The Power to Ignore Reality

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a post that was beyond fantastic, and I thought I might share it.  It’s from one of our newer friends, Fleece Me.  So, sit back a while and enjoy The Power to Ignore Reality.

Liberals have an amazing ability to ignore the facts of life.  Unlike the television show of the same name, our world is not composed of 30 minute vignettes of the trials and tribulations of a group of girls living in the suburbs, it is decidedly the opposite.  Daily, innocent people are being reduced to mounds of indecipherable flesh, innocent people are losing jobs and benefits and even more innocent people are finding that their government has greater concerns than the well-being of its populace.  But if you pay attention to the most pressing concerns facing Americans (according to liberals), there would be issues such as whether or not gays should be allowed to openly serve in the military, whether or not children of illegal aliens should get citizenship, how much control the government should have over the food we put in our body and how restaurants are allowed to market that food, and lastly, should caffeine be allowed in alcoholic beverages.

Is this just blatant ignorance on the part of the progressives.  Do they not understand the looming tax-increase is the biggest concern of every business in America?  Do they even care?  I am going to suggest they do not.  This power to ignore reality is shared by only one other group of people on the planet, children.  Now I am not going to go into a long diatribe of how liberals are like little children, mainly because that has been done more than a few times (primarily because the similarities are striking), but I
